Hey everyone! I'm Tang Lipeng, and I'm really excited to share my 9-year journey at Peking University's College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering (CCME). It’s a story about growing up, friendship, and chasing dreams.

I was born in Venezuela, South America, and came to China at age seven, totally drawn by Chinese culture and education. Since then, Peking University has been my home — I did both my undergrad and PhD here, and after nine years, being a "PKUer" is just who I am.
Honestly, my student life pretty much revolves around basketball. Freshman year, I landed at PKU surrounded by China's brightest students, and it was a lot to take in. Basketball became my outlet and my anchor. Through it, I found my brothers — guys who had my back on the court and helped me survive exams and tough classes. We went from the Freshman Cup to the more intense PKU Cup, winning some, losing some, but our friendship and love for the game never changed.

Basketball also brought me closer to my mentor. In PhD years, I worked with Professor Li Mufan, a young researcher in electrochemistry who happens to love basketball too. We'd play together, chat about life and NBA games — it made us more like friends than just mentor and student. His support kept me healthy and happy through my PhD.
2026 PKU Cup Championship
From 2018 to 2026, our college team made it to the finals several times but always fell short. Championship is our ultimate goal. We never give up, but more training and communicating about games. Then in 2026, my final year, we went undefeated and finally won the PKU Cup! It’s the perfect ending to my basketball story and student life here.
